This coffee totally blew us away on the cupping table. Next to many other coffees from a similar region in Colombia, this beautiful Pink Bourbon grown by Eduardo Urquina was so distinctive and complex that we couldn't believe it was from Colombia. It has almost geisha like qualities with flavors of lemongrass and a candy-like sweetness. This is a soft and floral coffee that builds in complexity the more you drink.
The farm sits at an elevation of approximately 1,550 meters and consists of approximately 4 hectares in total. Of those 4 hectares, approximately 12,500 trees are Variedad Colombia and 5,000 trees are Pink Bourbon. Eduardo ferments the coffee for 24 hours in cherry, de-pulps and then ferments dry in the tank for another 38 hours. Upon washing, the coffee is dried in a greenhouse for around 20-25 days depending on the climate. This is our first year working with Eduardo. We are thrilled to be working with Eduardo and look forward to future harvests!
Eduardo was paid 1.6MM Peso/Carga for his coffee while the day price at the time of purchase was 850,000 Peso/Carga
