Natural Ethiopian Landrace
This coffee comes from Ture Waji, the founder of Sookoo Coffee. It is processed at the Suke station, where cherries are gathered from 35 local smallholders. Farm elevations range from 2000 to 2150 MASL, and this particular lot primarily consists of Gibirinna 74110 and Serto 74112 landrace varieties. Expect a flavorful and impressively clean natural coffee that Ture has become famous for. You'll find delightful notes of berry jam, candied stone fruit, delicate florals, and an abundance of sweetness.
Ture Waji, often referred to as "The King of Guji," is not only an outstanding producer but also a passionate and kind individual we've had the pleasure of meeting numerous times over the years. He is renowned for consistently producing some of the nation's cleanest natural coffees. The producers who contribute to this lot manage small parcels of land entirely organically. Each farm is roughly 1-2 hectares, with coffee planted in fully or semi-forested systems.
Cherries are collected at peak ripeness. Once sorted they are moved directly to drying tables where they are dried on raised beds in cherry.
