Lucas has a long background in food service and hospitality. About four years ago he had a cup of coffee that totally changed his life and opened up his eyes to what coffee can be. Most recently, he worked for Share Coffee Roasters where he had the opportunity to learn to roast.
Rebecca is a recent graduate from Mount Holyoke College where she studied Art History and Studio Art. She has a deep love and appreciation for the visual, and is looking forward to applying this passion to her work for Ilse.
We first met in the Berkshires in 2016, and ever since then, we've found an appreciation for experiencing great things together. Some of the biggest, and most influential events and experiences in our lives have come from our love for great food and coffee.
We believe, like with most things, starting with the best raw product is extremely important. We look for coffees that are naturally sweet and flavorful, as we have a strong appreciation for a fruit-forward cup. With that being said, we are an ingredient-driven coffee company.
Our goal as coffee roasters is to bring out the natural sweetness and flavor that is a result of all the hard work done by producers at origin. We never want to impart any roast flavor in our already beautifully vibrant coffees. We want to bring out the truth in the coffee we buy.
