It has been a couple of years since we had Burundi on our menu and to say we are excited for the return would be an understatement.

We worked with Long Miles Coffee to source a few lots this season. Mutana was processed at the Heza washing station and is comprised of cherries grown on Mutana Hill. In Burundi, hills are the smallest geopolitical unit, so hill separations are the most traceable lots coming out of Burundi. Mutana is very clean and polished with flavors of hibiscus, bright berries, black tea, and concord grape. We are finding a very expressive acidity which we love.

This is one of two lots we purchased from the Heza washing station, both from different hill separations. Tasting the different profiles coming from each hill has been exciting for us this season and we are eager to share.
