Ecuador | Finca Cruz Loma
Washed Mejorado
Galo Morales and his family manage Finca Cruz Loma, a beautiful farm situated at 1450–1800 MASL in Pichincha. This lot is a separation of Typica Mejorado, harvested in September 2024. It's our second year working with this coffee, and we’re thrilled to have it back. The cup presents a hard candy-like sweetness complemented by a clean, floral profile. We taste notes of rose, pear nectar, and stone fruits, with a delicate tea-like body.
Cruz Loma is an exceptional farm known for producing some of Ecuador's finest coffees. They have consistently placed high in the COE and are deeply committed to quality in their coffee production. They recently began exporting their own coffee and we are thrilled to continue our partnerships.
Cherries are picked at peak ripeness and floated to remove defects. The ripe cherries are then depulped and fermented for 72 hours. Following fermentation the seeds are thoroughly rinsed to remove all mucilage and are moved to the drying rooms where they dry on raised beds for 18-25 days.
