Fernando Osorio is a young producer with a 1.5 hectare farm, El Manzano in Ricabrisa, Tarqui. As with most of our Colombian coffees, this one comes from our partners at Monkaaba in San Agustin, Huila. This is a really exciting coffee for us as it represents the spread of specialty coffee in the area. When we visited San Agustin last year, a group of producers from Tarqui made the long trek to visit and see what was going on with Monkaaba. They then wanted to get involved in a more collaborative way to produce and sell coffee. This is Fernando's first micro-lot and its an honor for us to share it!
Fernando's Caturra is very flavorful and fruity. We are tasting fruit punch and grape with a heavy body and a confectionary sweetness.
Processing Details:
Cherries are picked at peak ripeness. Fermented in cherry for 36 hours, de-pulped and dry fermented for 48 hours.
