Galo Morales and his family manage Finca Cruz Loma, a beautiful farm situated at 1450–1800 MASL in Pichincha. This lot is a separation of Mejorado & Sidra, harvested in September 2024. This is the same lot they have used twice to place 3rd in the Ecuador COE and it's one of the most expressive coffees we have tried from this farm. It presents intense tropical fruit flavors and complex florals. We taste pineapple, lychee, mango, and white tea along with perfumed florals and a lingering finish.
Cruz Loma is an exceptional farm known for producing some of Ecuador's finest coffees. They have consistently placed high in the COE and are deeply committed to quality in their coffee production. They recently began exporting their own coffee and we are thrilled to continue our partnerships.
Cherries are picked at peak ripeness and floated to remove defects. The ripe cherries are then depulped and fermented anaerobically for 72 hours. Following fermentation the seeds are thoroughly washed to remove all mucilage and are moved to the drying rooms where they dry on raised beds for 18-25 days.
