Decaf Colombia | Divino Nino
This decaffeinated lot is a collaboration of 65 farming families in Suaza, Huila. Harvested in February 2025, the farms are situated at altitudes between 1350 and 1900 MASL. This lot is made up of small lots from each farm that were too small to be separated on their own. It's a blend of Castillo, Caturra, Colombia, Pink Bourbon and Gesha. This makes for a very fruit forward and flavorful decaf with notes of mixed berries, milk chocolate and caramel.
EA Decaf coffees from Colombia are always a favorite of ours, offering a cup with exceptional sweetness and a smooth, round body. While they may not always be the most attention-grabbing coffees, this lot demonstrates how excellent decaf can be when it is grown, processed, and prepared with care.
The process begins with ripe cherry selection, followed by a cherry fermentation for 15-24 hours before being depulped. The seeds are then fermented for 24-48 hours, followed by rinsing, drying, and decaffeination using ethyl acetate.
