Natural Ethiopian Landrace
This coffee comes from Ture Waji, the founder of Sookoo Coffee. It is processed at the Raro Nensebo station, where cherries are delivered from 35 local small holders living in the village, Teraga. Farm elevations range from 2150 to 2350 MASL. This is our 5th year buying this lot and it always impresses. Expect a flavorful and impressively clean natural coffee that Ture has become famous for. You'll find delightful notes of lime, blackberry and mango all encapsulated by a honey tea like body and an abundance of sweetness.
Ture Waji, often referred to as "The King of Guji," is not only an outstanding producer but also a passionate and kind individual we've had the pleasure of meeting numerous times over the years. He is renowned for consistently producing some of the nation's cleanest natural coffees. The producers who contribute to this lot manage small parcels of land entirely organically.
Each farm is roughly 1-2 hectares, with coffee planted in fully or semi-forested systems.
Cherries are collected at peak ripeness. Once sorted they are moved directly to drying tables where they are dried on raised beds in cherry for 21-28 days.
