Young producers of Urrao Washed Chiroso
This espresso roast comes from a group of young producers in Urrao, Antioquia. Grown between 1650-1800 MASL this is a blend of Chiroso's harvested from January - March 2026. In the cup we find notes of milk chocolate, tropical fruit, cherry and honey.
We have been amazed by the coffee, specifically Chiroso coming from Urrao. This coffee represents an effort to purchase larger volumes as well as a wider range of quality from this region with the goal of increasing quality long term. In this lot we have coffee from Carmen Montayo & Albeiro Ramirez as well as many younger producers like Daniel & Natalia Hernandez & Delvis Machado.
Cherries are harvested at peak ripeness and are then depulped. After being depulped the coffee undergoes a 38-hour dry fermentation. The seeds are then dried for 20 to 25 days under sunlight with a plastic cover to regulate the temperature.
