Decaf Colombia | Monkaaba
This decaffeinated lot is a collaboration of coffee producers within the Monkaaba network in San Agustin Colombia. Harvested in August 2025, the coffee comes from farms situated at altitudes between 1600 and 1900 MASL. It’s a sweetness-forward decaf with a soft pillowy mouthfeel with tasting notes of brown sugar, wafer cookie, and subtle hints of orange.
EA Decaf coffees from Colombia are always a favorite of ours, offering a cup with exceptional sweetness and a smooth, round body. We are thrilled to expand our purchasing within Monkaaba to now include our decaf offering. While not always the most attention grabbing offering, this coffee represents our commitment to procuring more volume from our producing partners and embracing a wider range of qualities.
The process begins with ripe cherry selection, followed by a cherry fermentation for 15-24 hours before being depulped. The seeds are then fermented for 24-48 hours, followed by rinsing, drying, and decaffeination using ethyl acetate.
