Panama | Janson Lot 1023
Washed Green Tip Gesha
This exceptional Gesha selection comes from Los Alpes, one of two farms owned by the Janson Family in Panama’s Talamanca mountain range. Grown at an altitude of 1,700 MASL and harvested on March 3rd, 2025. This year’s harvest from Janson was incredible, making it hard to only select a few. This lot is lush, complex, and very ripe. We are finding flavors of citrus like lemon custard and mandarin, red grape and peach, as well as loads of florals like bergamot, honeysuckle, and rose.
The Janson Family has been producing some of the world’s finest coffees since transitioning from a cattle farm in 1989. Their coffees are regularly featured in barista competitions globally and consistently rank among the top in the Best of Panama competition. We’re excited to feature their coffees, which often display a beautiful balance of citrus and floral notes, along with deep layers of complexity. This lot is the first of four from the Janson farms that we’ll be offering this season.
Cherries are collected at peak ripeness. Once sorted they are depulped and the seeds are fermented for 72 hours. Following this stage the seeds are rinsed thoroughly and moved to dry on raised beds for 10 days.
